Shopping

I have a long Christmas wish list for after Christmas. Me and the hubby decided not to buy each other gifts and get a couple of things we want/need after Christmas.

I desperately need a new digital camera. Ours is older than Molly and has been dropped numerous times. It is soooooo slow too. What kind to you recommend?? Not wanting to pay a fortune of course.

Also shopping for a laptop. Those computer savvy readers out there, what kind do you have or like? I am clueless about buying a computer.

Last, I need a new vacuum cleaner. One that is good for wood floors. I love these new wood floors, but they are driving me nutso! They are tough to keep clean....

Open to your suggestions:)

Dreaming of a white Texas Christmas

We took the girls to Santa's Wonderland the other night. Molly LOVED the "fake" snow. Poor thing, she's never really seen the real deal.

Aggie Hoops and Santa

Over the weekend we took the girls to the Aggie Women's Basketball game. The hour before the game they have a special kids time on the court. They are able to play basketball on the practice courts. Molly loved it, she was all over the place. Ally really enjoyed it as well, but I was trying to make sure she dodged all the flying basketballs. Santa was also at Reed Arena. So Molly had to tell him about the scooter she wants one more time! Notice who is not in the picture. Ally screams when we see Santa. She love to look at pictures of "ta" but the real deal is pretty scary! We only lasted about 15 minutes of the game, it was a later game and both girls were entering meltdown mode. This Wednesday the hubby and I are heading to the men's game with no kids! Looking forward to enjoying my Aggie Hoops in peace.

Life Lately

We have been so busy lately so I haven't posted. Here are a few pics of what we've been up to. We decorated our house for Christmas, Molly performed with her dance class at Christmas in the park, and the girls wore their rain boots out in the rain.

Happy Anniversary to my Hubby!

It's been 7 years since I married the most wonderful man! Here are 7 things I love about him
1. He's a hard worker and very good at what he does.
2. He's an amazing father and his 2 little girls adore him!
3. He is very affectionate and loves to give hugs!
4. He lets me watch my shows on the living room TV after the girls go to bed.
5. He plans neat surprises for me.
6. He calls me during the day, just to say hello.
7. He loves the Lord and is a great leader for our family:)

Happy Anniversary Babe!

Happy 1st Birthday, Baby Girl!

Well my baby is officially 1! I can't believe how fast this year has gone. She is walking all over the place and is such a funny little girl. I have truly loved every minute of this last year with her. It's so great the 2nd time to not be so uptight and worried and just enjoy the moments! Her b-day was on the 16th and we had a party on Saturday, the 17th. We've had a busy weekend celebrating!

What do you do?

Sorry. I have been horrible at keeping up with this thing!! I promise to try to do better!

Ok, today after MOPS I stopped by Michaels (the store) with the girls. I needed some picture wire to hang a picture in our entry way. Thought, easy in, easy out....NO! MK got ticked off because she didn't want to leave the store, she wanted to look at the "toys." So she took off running (aka: sprinting) thru the store yelling, "You're not gonna catch me!!" I am carrying A (all 25 lbs of her) and I have on high heeled boots, running after her! uuuugggghhh. This child! Needless to say after several minutes of running thru aisles, we left. I took her favorite toy away when we got home, we'll see if she ever pulls this again.

On a more positive note...these are some pics from our trip to the Houston Zoo last week. We had a great time...both girls really enjoyed it!

Keep your fingers crossed!!!

One thing we never thought about when we built our house. The garage. We loved the look of the 3 car garage, each bay with it's own door. We love it! Until the other day when I finally cleared enough space to get my car parked in there. Well guess what? My Expedition is too BIG!! Too wide. The mirrors on the side prevent me from ever parking in my garage. Well not ever, that is if I wish to get out of the car each time I come and go and manually fold in the side mirrors.

So we have been trying to figure out what to do. I am a major proponent of garages. So I must park in one! We have toyed with buying a new car. I LOVE my car, don't want the hassle of a new one. Today I talked to the Ford dealership who say it's possible (how possible we will see) to add power folding side mirrors to my car. I would much rather pay the not so cheap price of adding those and being able to park in my new garage than forking out all the cash to buy a new car when I LOVE mine already! Keep your fingers crossed. My Expedition has an appointment on October 5th to see if he has the proper wiring to have this surgery:)

MK gets great report

MK went to her pediatric eye doc in Austin today with Daddy. She got a great report and is only 1 step away from passing a standard school vision exam. She has done so great with her glasses these last 6 months. I am so proud of her and pray that she continues to improve!

We're Home!

Well we are finally in our new house. After what seems like forever we are in! Mostly unpacked, but still have a garage full of stuff that I just don't know what to do with! We love visitors so come by anytime!

MK started preschool and seems to be doing great. She's really enjoying herself. Me on the otherhand am STRESSED! It takes me 30 minutes to get to school so much of my day is in the car with a 10 month old! I do enjoy my Wednesdays when both girls are in school:)

I plan to upload more pics soon of the girls. Can't believe A is fast approaching 1.

The Mommy Do

MK got a haircut from Aunt Sisi today. She wanted her hair to look like Mommy's. Turned out pretty cute! Looks so much older, now if she'll just act more mature;) She's gearing up for preschool. Rumor has it we are moving into our new house on Tuesday. Will keep you up to date on when we are officially not homeless!

MOVING!

We are busy loading all of our belongings for our big move, AGAIN! Can't wait to post that we are all settled in our new home. I know MK is so excited to get into her new room and I think A is just so confused. Poor thing has been moved around for her whole life!

From Visiting Old Friends to IVs

We went to visit my good friend Julie and her kiddos this week in Houston. We have had it planned for months. So I got my car loaded with all of our necessary items. Hubby headed to the PGA tourney in Tulsa and was hanging out with Tiger Woods:)

Well, we enjoyed our first night of our visit. Thursday morning MK woke up throwing up!! YUCK. So after several episodes we packed the car up again, and hit the road back to Bryan. After even more episodes at home I called the Dr. who told us to come in for a shot. So off we go. Once there it was determined that she needed to be admitted to the hospital. (Remember, my hubby is out of town!) Luckily my good friends The Wests came to my rescue and took A to their house until family was able to come and get her. Hubby left the tourney a day early and headed back to see MK in the hospital. We stayed overnight hooked up to IV pumping her with fluids and antibiotics. Friday afternoon we came home with a little girl who is back to normal. (Only seems to want grilled cheese.) Thank goodness she's better. I hate seeing her so sick! She was a trooper patient. Using great manners with the nurses and doctors. She did not like being stuck all the time. "No more bloodwork!" she said!

Is this legal?

I've resorted to putting my kids in a cage! Me and the fam trucked it to Toys R Us yesterday in search of a contraption to keep my 8 month old in a confined space. Like I have said before she crawls to anything and everything she shouldn't. Cords are her favorite and the cable box. With all the packing in my near future I need somewhere to put her where I know she will be safe. She likes the cage for now but I'm waiting for the newness to wear off.

This weekend I will begin to prepare for my departure from Beaver Pond. Most of you have heard me speak of my beloved rental house, few of you have seen it in person. There's a reason for that! While I am extremely grateful that the Lord has provided us with shelter for the past 3 months, I will be sooooooo glad to leave this place.

Here are things I will NOT miss about Beaver Pond:

  • The fact that many many college guys have called BP their home so it creeps me out to imagine what has gone on inside these walls
  • I will now be able to go without my flip flops at all times. I have yet to walk the floors of BP barefoot.
  • The one burner on the stove that works properly.
  • The water that is either HOT or COLD!
  • The guy next door who mows his yard right by my window at 7 am the morning after I am done with boot camp!!:(
  • The copperhead snakes who inhabit our backyard.
  • The fact that everytime A or MK crawls across the floor I cringe.
  • The fact that no matter how hard I scrub or clean BP is never clean.
Ok, enough complaining. Like I said BP has been a roof on our heads and a place for us to live that is close to Traditions where hubby works and our new house is unerconstruction. It has been a blessing.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Tiny Dancer

Today MK finished her Cinderella's Circle Dance Camp. They had a performance for all of the parents. She did so good. They had their hair and makeup done for their big debut. She was so hilarious. They had all the girls lined up with the older (5yr.olds) front and center. MK was on the front row at the end. I think they put the "distractors" on the end. She actually did a few hip shakes and dance moves during the first go round. The 2nd time she did her own thing. She kind of turned into a hip-hop ballerina. All the moms around me were asking if I had taught her those moves! Don't know where they came from, but we were very proud of our tiny dancer and her first ever performance!

Growing Up

Well, A has decided to go and grow up on me! She took off crawling last week and is on the move now! She is totally different than MK, she goes straight for cords, outlets and all things she shouldn't. Today during her nap I noticed on the video monitor something I had never seen before. It was moving all around. I go into her room and she has the camera and is moving it all around and chewing on it. Then she proceeds to stand up in her crib! Time to lower the crib. Gosh, she's growing way too fast:(

I have a blog!

I have entered the blogging world. My hubby thinks I am nuts. Oh well...we'll see how well I can keep up with it. We are having a CRAZY summer. We moved 2 months ago after our house sold in 2 days on the market. We are living in a rental we affectionately refer to as Beaver Pond...more on that later! We are building our house at Traditions where hubby works. Will be moving again on August 14th. The new house won't be ready...so we are nomads. Traveling all around. All this moving is making me very tired. I will be so thankful once we are settled in the new house. More to come soon!
