Same Song, Second Verse

I love being a mom. My girls are the greatest source of pride, joy, laughter, and frustration. Being a mom the second time around is quite different than the first. Those of you who have more than one child know what I am talking about. I am much more relaxed with Ally--I know/knew that she would eventually sleep thru the night, drink from a cup, etc.

Now we are facing potty training. With Molly I sat on the hard bathroom floor 7 months pregnant for long periods of time. Pleading with this little angel to just go. She did finally get it, although I wondered if she would be the first Kindergartner in diapers. Lately Ally has started training herself. I had tried several times to no avail. But I did not worry, you see I had done this before, I knew she would get it eventually. She is scared to wear panties, but again, I am confident that when she turns 3 she will be proudly sporting her favorite Dora undies.

Ally is 2 1/2 and still uses a Paci. Only at bedtime and naptime. Uncharted territory as Molly never used one. I have been discussing with Ally that the Paci Fairy was going to come very soon and take her Paci (we only have 1 left) and leave her a special treat because she's a good girl. Here's the dilemma. We are going on vacation to Colorado next week. Should Paci Fairy come before or after vacation? I also need to consider Paci Fairy needs to find time to go shopping for special treat without Ally. Hmmmmm. Any ideas?

Here Comes Summer...

We have been crazy busy with end of the year happenings. Molly is only in PreK and Ally is just my tag-along buddy so I can't imagine how much busier we will be in the years to come. Molly completed her year of Pre-Kindergarten at Brazos Christian. We LOVE the school and feel so blessed that God led us to the PreK program. Last year I was indecisive for a while as to if I wanted her to go ( I didn't want to put her in "school" before I had to). But I feel like it was the best decision we could have made. She has matured so much and made so many precious adorable friends. She is thrilled to be starting Kindergarten in the fall. Can't believe my baby will be in Kindergarten. These 5 years have gone too fast.

BCS had an end of the year swim party last week, here is Molly in the pink headed for the water.

Molly had her awards program the day after the swim party. Here she is with two of her sweet friends, Charli and Emma.

Molly received the award for the Godly characteristic of Orderliness. So Molly. Everything has to be a certain way, in it's place. Wonder who she got that from:)

Here is Molly and her assistant teacher, Mrs. Ford. We love Mrs. Ford. Thankfully we've already ran into her at HEB once since school has been out so we hope to see her there throughout the summer.

And here she is with her teacher Mrs. Wipke. Mrs. Wipke has such a way with these kids. She's amazing. Heard a rumor she's moving up to Kinder so maybe we'll be blessed to have her again.

The day after awards was Dance Recital. I must say I can't figure out if Molly enjoys dance. We haven't decided if we are staying in it for next year. We are exploring our options.

Here she is on stage. Molly's class were brides. One of their dances was to "Love and Marriage". It was really cute. They did a great job.

Molly and her friend Addie striking a pose.

We are ready for summer and all our activities. Swim lessons, trip to Colorado, Dance Camp, Art Camp, gymnastics, trip to Galveston, weddings, and much more!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

The Itsy Bitsy Spider
Craweld up my left arm
I woke up at 6 am in panic and alarm.

On came the light and out of bed I ran
Got rid of the itsy bitsy spider, never to be seen again.

Yes... true story. Not fun waking up with something crawling on you. And this was my morning to sleep in and not get up to run.

May 9th

I know I posted about this last year, but this special date deserves another post this year.

10 years ago today - May 9, 1999 ( I believe it was a Friday)

Geoff and Emily go on their very first date. On Thursday night a large group of friends went dancing at Hurricane Harry's in College Station. Geoff and I were both in this large group as we had been many times before. We danced, I danced with many guys as he would tell it. He casually asked me if I was "dating" anyone. I said no. He said lets go out. I said okay. He called the next morning and we made plans for the evening. We went out with his friend Jason who at the time was dating my friend Emily. We went to Cafe Capri in Downtown Bryan. We then went to George Bush Presidential Library and walked/talked for hours. I have a good picture of us from that night, I was going to try to scan it in, until I tried to take it out of the frame. I guess 10 years of being in there has made the picture stick to the glass so I didn't want to ruin the picture by taking it out. So I tried to take a pic of it with the camera. We shall see how it turns out! Needless to say our relationship took off from there and we were engaged 7 months later and married the next year! Thank you Lord for bringing such a wonderful man into my life on this very day and for the plans for our future that you knew before we did.

Also to be noted on this day-
May 9, 2003- 6 years ago today.
Found out we were pregnant with Molly Kate. What an exciting Mother's Day weekend. Can't believe that was 6 years ago.

Happy Mother's Day!

Off to our Myers Family (minus Geoff- he is working) inaugural swim out here at Traditions. It has been so hot, I am ready to hit the pool. Wish me luck!

Jesus Loves Me

Had to share this video of Ally tonight at dinner... I am thinking American Idol is in her future!

Grandparent's Day

Molly's school held it's annual Grandparent's Day yesterday. The elementary kids put on a cute program and then showed the grandparents around their classrooms. My parents, aka Mimi and Pops, came for the weekend. We met up with Geoff's mom, aka Mama, at Koppe Bridge for lunch on her way from Houston to Dallas. Molly (and Ally) enjoyed seeing everyone.

Last night we went to Atami for dinner. It cracks me up that my kids hardly eat anything, EVER. But there they just gobble up fried rice and chicken like crazy. Ally did almost choke on a calamari, but other than that little episode, it was a great dinner.

Thanks for coming to visit Mimi and Pops!
